The Blue Penguin (Korora)
is the world's smallest penguin at just 35-43cm tall. It can be found in many places around New Zealand and southern Australia. It is estimated that the world breeding population is approximately 350–600,000 birds, 50–100,000 of them in New Zealand. It is not an endangered species, but some populations are threatened and their protection is important.

Penguins travel 15–75 km at sea each day

Long-term partnerships are the norm, but 'divorce' is not uncommon
